I think we all knew it was only a matter of time until one of the coffee shops closed on First Street; does Livermore really need Peet’s, Starbucks, and Panama Bay all within a rocks throw? Now, in the wake of the Starbucks closure there is happy news to report. Sources tell me a deal with Nestle Cafe to occupy the former Starbucks space is in progress. According the the Nestle website the cafes offer:

DSCN0328

  • Top quality cookies and baked goods in over 45 varieties
  • The world’s largest coffee brand, Nescafe®, as a great tasting, yet simple to produce premium coffee segment
  • Super premium Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream in up to 32 different flavors
  • Delicious fruit smooties
  • Strong catering options such as sheet cookie cakes

  • It sounds like it could be a good fit in the space, especially considering the proximity to the theater and how active the downtown plaza is with youth.

    1. The Nestle Cafe will be a great addition to downtown livermore. There are many families that go downtown to have a good time, I am glad they have something like this instead of just the coffee places (ie. peets and panama) or clothing and other shops. It is right next to the movie theatre wich makes this an excellent place to get your movie treats. I am excited for this new shop to open up. 🙂
