Chances are, if you have driven through downtown Livermore more than once, you have noticed the former Groth Brothers Chevrolet site. Currently, the approximately 4.5 acre site is being occupied by two retailers. On one side of the property is Elegant Party Supplies Rentals and on the opposite side, you will find Main Street Designs Christmas Shop. Together, these retailers occupy the lot formerly known as Groth Brothers. The City of Livermore held a Planning Commission Meeting on March 6th, 2018 in which a redevelopment proposition for the site was discussed. During the meeting, it was proposed to redevelop the site into a mixed-use development that will consist of two buildings that together will form a total of 222 apartments and around 14,000 square feet of retail space. In addition to this, the proposal includes 392 parking spaces within a multi-level parking garage. The development also includes amenities for both private and public use including public landscaped courtyards and a private rooftop pool and terrace. The development would include demolition of the four remaining buildings as well as removal of on-site trees.
