A new parking garage is being built on the Dublin side of the Dublin-Pleasanton Bart station. The need for another parking garage has been a widely discussed topic since 2002, when Bart announced that it would be building a 655-space garage, and then rescinded their plans due to a lack of funding. Since then, assemblywoman Catherine Baker and supervisor Scott Haggerty acquired a majority of the funding through the state. The new garage will be an approximately 600 to 700 space parking structure located directly next to the existing garage. This development will help satisfy the need for more parking spaces based on the fact that the current parking garages are routinely filled on the weekdays by 8 a.m.
